At the end of the 2017 Steam Summer Sale the Valve Anti-Cheat banhammer was swung.
BOOM, the day after 40,000 steam users were banned, and what a beautiful day to ban them.
Sweet, sweet, tears rain down in the hacking world as 40,000 kids cried out in pain after literally paying for a sweet tasty ban.
As you can tell from the writing, we hate hackers, and do not see merit in gamers who choose to hack for whatever reason.
Still, overall this is a fairly normal number for the month, only significant in the issuing after the Steam Sale, and it happening in one day.
As you can see in the graph below, the bans have been slowly increasing, with a great purge last year in June 2016.
Still... we have the rest of July to get through, so let's see what it looks like at the end of the month. You can check out the stats over at SteamDB
