Evil Genius 2 Officially Announced Now In Development At Rebellion

Posted By: GamerDating - July 06, 2017

As a nice surprise to the start of this month, Rebellion snuck in an announcement in an E3 video. Evil Genius 2 is coming!

13 years ago, Evil Genius released a game where you would build your base and try and stop heroes sneaking in and ruining your plans. Very similar to the Dungeon Keeper games, and widely loved.

Everybody wants to rule the world! Achieve global power with EVIL GENIUS, the one and only complete world domination simulator. All the everyday tasks of the deliciously wicked mastermind are available to experience and master from building your ultra-secret base to developing spectacular super-weapons to carry out your nefarious master plan. How evil are you?

Check out the E3 Video:

Evil Genius 2 is not a remastered version but a sequel to the original game.

“We`d like to make this super-duper clear — this isn`t a remaster. Evil Genius 2 will be a fully-fledged sequel and it won`t be free-to-play.”Rebellion said, “Ever since Evil Genius came under the Rebellion roof, we`ve always believed that Elixir`s beloved real-time, lair-management and world-domination simulation deserved a follow-up,”

The game is currently focused on PC only but we might see it coming to the consoles too.

“Our focus currently is on a PC release, but as ever we`ll look at other platforms and see what fits and what doesn`t.”

Talking about the delay Rebellion wrote,

“Firstly, we were in the middle of a big transition into becoming our own publisher and we needed to put resources into the projects that became Zombie Army Trilogy, Battlezone on PSVR and Sniper Elite 3 and 4. Secondly, we decided crowd-funding wasn`t the way we wanted to go. After the growing success of the Sniper Elite series and other Rebellion games IP, we started to feel it wasn`t fair to ask fans to fund a new game if we didn`t need them to! With some big projects now out the door and being enjoyed by gamers worldwide, we feel like now is the time to return to the world of Evil Genius.”

I for one look forward to getting more information on Evil Genius 2!
