Obsidian Entertainment and Paradox Interactive announced that the second expansion for Pillars of Eternity, The White March Part 2, will be released on February 16th. That is a little bit of a delay, it was planned for the end of January, but with the date only being a tad over a month away, we are willing to forgive them. The trailer, released today on Paradox Interactive's YouTube channel, gives us only a little glimpse of the game's deepening plot but is worth the minute of growing anticipation.
This expansion will finish up the story that was started in The White March - Part 1, last year. Directed by Obsidian’s Josh Sawyer - you might recognize his name from Fallout: New Vegas - this expansion has new locations, more quests and even a new companion. The level cap is being raised and we will get some interesting new abilities, too.
Pillars of Eternity is an RPG PC exclusive that got its start on Kickstarter. Considered a spiritual successor to awesome titles like Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale, the game is doing a pretty good job of living up to its inspirations. Over half a million copies have been sold and the community continues to grow. With several awards won in 2015, including Global Game Awards Best RPG and PC Gamer’s Spirit of the PC Award, it is clear Pillars of Eternity is a must-play game for any PC RPG lover.
